Would be nice to see an old school Pineapple Express! Think 18C on Christmas followed by a flash freeze and damaging outflow winds!

it's sure starting to look more like a strong El Nino pattern, without an actual El Nino...

Seasonal forecasts were wrong last year as well when they showed a cold February.

Typically when weather is most boring, and the long range doesn't look like much, that will mean a few weeks out from a major event.

I recall 2008 being like that

And we all remember what happened in the 2nd half of that month.

Another example is 2019. The cold initially went east in January and then shifted west in February. So there is still a chance we could get in on the winter action during the second half of the month. But we might have to wait until January. Either way, I think we will see some arctic air and snow this winter. I’d be surprised if it was a full on dud here.

Can't speak for others, but I'm an impatient person.

I want cold and snow now!

Season is just getting started though, I agree with your assessment.

Me too. I was hoping we could get an early start to winter like December 2016. But that’s most likely not happening now.
