Yup, 945 mbar is a strong Cat 3, typically. Not a hurricane due to it not being a tropical system, of course.
Our strongest windstorms are comparable to Cat 1–3 hurricanes when it comes to winds and central pressure.

EC just dropped "wet snow over higher terrain" in tomorrow's forecast. Is there *ANY* basis whatsoever for this? Because I think they're tripping...

If the low remains offshore to the W and at that strength we could be looking at some gusty outflow winds.
