Yesterdays wind storm was pretty decent. Many outages across Surrey. My power did not go out but flickered many times.

December is way too far out for anything other than a random guess. Also, monthly forecasts are kind of silly because a lot can happen in 30 days. 2 weeks of mild followed by an epic blast and more mild after that? Forecasts will probably pick up on one or the other, when the real answer is around average. An arctic blast here lasts about 5 days, won't show up in a monthly forecast unless we get the rare month that's full of cold weather.

It has been a while since there has been that many outages. We were without power for around 6/7 hours.

Lots of fairly large trees came down.
Central Coquitlam got hit hard.

Wasn't too bad in East Coquitlam. NW windstorms don't usually affect us that badly since we're on the leeside of the hill. Outflow winds do tend to be worse since there's full exposure to the NE, E, and SE.

"Only 10 days away"

Just posting this for fun... for now

18Z GFS shows some colder air settling into Western Canada/US around Day 9/10.

Shows some low elevation snows as well a bit later on in the run.

Thanks for sharing. That would explain all the damage up here and there was no warnings or sws for the Sunshine Coast. There are still people without power up here. Mine was out yesterday from noonish to midnight and phone and internet were out from 11am yesterday to 5 pm today.

Several trees came down here, a big cedar took out two smaller alder trees and lots of branches. I've got a couple of days of clean up left ot do.
