I heard they pushed the possibility to late tonight into tomorrow morning, this is the current forecast for tonight, tomorrow is similar but the LM is more on the edge of green. Here's hoping it clears up for tonight!

Never any guarantees but it's promising that so many weather agencies are going with a cold and snowier winter for our region. While the forecast is typically colder and snowier for La Niña winters, it seems to me like meteorologists are being extra bold this time in terms of cold and snow for this upcoming winter. Let's hope it's a good one! We deserve an old school blast with big outflow winds and multiple heavy snowstorms. :silent:  :flakey:

Aurora seems to be a dud tonight. No great loss as it is cloudy.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Seems like a cooler start to fall. Guess we are getting snow in November this year.

Would be nice to have a few extended cold snaps and prolonged snow cover as well. Last time we went over a month with snow on the ground was Feb-Mar 2019.

Very pleasant day, 16°-17°. With no wind at white rock beach it felt much warmer, an easy shorts and t-shirt day. Already a week into October, can't be too many of these warmish days left, maybe another week. The winter ducks, surf scooters, seem to have arrived a little early this year, saw quite a few of them.

Has anyone ever seen a loon on sea water? For the last few years I've seen a resident loon or two on the north side of crescent beach, but I wasn't 100% sure until the other day when I heard the call of the loon while it flapped its wings at a distance...confirmed. And for the first time, recently I've seen one at white rock beach. Prior to this I was under the impression that they only lived on lakes.

They migrate to the coast in the winter and can be seen on the sea, as you've noted. :D

That loon or two at crescent beach is there year round. Loons seem to like being alone, I've never seen a flock of loons, when fishing at interior lakes I've only seen one or two per lake.

Highs of 15-20c in the Similameeeens the next 7 days..kinda warm and not much chance of snow in sight.
This week anyways
And here it is..December 2024 all snow geeks have been waiting for :silent: ..with the LR weather "charts" calling for a cold and snowy month. Where's the troffing? :silent: :silent:

Pretty warm out there despite the clouds. 24c this afternoon in many places and now it is even cloudy.
