It's easier to predict and score a snowstorm than a half decent thunderstorm around these parts. Which is a crazy thing to say because of how bad our luck is with the former.

Loving the rain, but it looks like the border won again in the thunderstorm department.

Still hearing rumbles but distant, Bridal Falls and mid island perhaps are getting a good show.

What I don't understand is why the storms always seem to weaken as soon as they near the border. It's not like the terrain changes. :x

After all this no SWS was issued for the central valley but yet we had a decent cell move over head with thunder and lightning close.

I don’t know Jr. Man something for you to study. Perhaps the energy is defused between the Cascades or Olympics. :?

It's because of the winds from Annis Road! 🌬️ 💨

I guess I can't really complain since I did manage quite a few strokes out my way but I wish this had been more widespread! But there's more chances for the next several hours, I think. Hopefully something good happens.

Well, that was disappointing (but not entirely a surprise). 9.4 mm since midnight but as usual CBSA detained the thunder and lightning at the border.

More than I got. Fell asleep around midnight figuring that if anything significant happened weatherwise it would wake me up. Slept through the night.

I guess it’s payback for having lived on Bainbridge Island, which for some reason sits in a thunderstorm track. If there's even a single thunderstorm that pops up in the Central Puget Sound region, it will inevitably track through Bainbridge. Once I got four of them during a single day in one thundery spell.

Yeah, I mostly slept through it, too. Heard thunder and rain around 12:30, but not much after that.

Still raining moderately with 18.3 mm in the gauge.

Apparently it got pretty windy as well since some stuff on my deck had blown around.

I heard at least three massive thunder claps sounding right overhead. Not sure what time...I wasn't expecting much more than that.

Another dud. What a joke. SO MUCH lightning from southern Oregon all the way to Bellingham and then it fizzled.
Even when conditions are prime, we get screwed. I'm starting to think there is some type of weather modification going on at the border.
