Mostly clear today between Calgary and Pincher Creek with high temps sitting around 27-28c. Very strong westerly winds all across SW Alberta... probably enhanced by that frontal system bringing all the rain to the south coast coming over and down the leeside of the Rockies.

Up to 27.41mm for the day.

A decent soaking for July.

I know this is only temporary, but nice to see all the green.

They're pretty common to see at Waterton from what I heard.

Head smashed in Buffalo is located in the eastern foothills of the Rockies (Porcupine Hills) with steep hills/cliffs and the flat prairie below. The museum on site illustrates the traditional hunting method by the local natives of the area (Blackfoot tribe) hunted the Bison/Buffalo for the past 6,000 years. Really cool area and would definitely recommend taking the small detour if anyone is passing through on the Crowsnest Hwy.

It's also located in prime Chinook country!

Currently 17c with light showers/drizzle in Pincher Creek with moderate westerly winds.

I get how many welcome a summer rain. At the best of times, I’ve been a prolific sweater since age 13. But with this humidity, I’m drenched just getting ready for work. Liking dry summers is a personal hygiene thing.

It's still raining this morning. Have we ever had rain on July 29 and 30 in a row?

It has been great to get these 2 days of rain/mist/drizzle. You can see the plants and trees already look better. They needed it. I feels good too! The humidity is blah, and I suppose it will be way worse this week after the sun comes out, but at least we got the rain we needed before this next summer run of weather.
