As much as I hate to say it, it's been a great run.
We can only hope to see a map like this at the start of July every year moving forwards. Will be interesting to see what this looks like a week today

Closer to the event EC is going with mid to upper 30s. A run-of-the-mill July heatwave.
For what Osoyoos? Certainly not for the valley or metro Vancouver! 33 is the highest which is nothing special

Thanks Typeing, I'm happy to see they all agree with the temp dropping after just a few days.

YVR being the chilly regional outlier during the summer as usual.

Apart from the exceptional June 2021 heatwave, YVR is typically the chilly outlier in our region due to its proximity to the ocean.

Looks like YVR has been dethroned by White Rock, at least for today. Fairly decent breeze this afternoon/evening.

Yes, I know... it was still a huge outlier during the June 2021 heatwave too with East Van pushing 40c despite YVR struggling to top 32c.

It definitely felt toasty warm today. We have been using our back yard quite a bit this Summer. We have a nice shady spot so that even during the hot afternoon, it feels slightly cooler in that one area.

Still a very memorable heatwave though. Probably the most extreme weather event I've ever experienced.
