We got a couple quick centimeters in about 15 minutes and it's in a lull now, but the temperature certainly dropped a lot.

That's insane, considering March snow is not uncommon here.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2024 4:48 pm I just had a trace briefly accumulate! First time I have ever seen snow stick on the ground on the West Coast in March.
Bodes well for tomorrow morning, when the NAM 3km says there will be another snow chance.

Right but it is March 1. We are only 2/3 of the way to Q2. Anyways, it doesn’t really matter haha.

Re: March 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
I moved to the West Coast in the summer of 1989, have lived in a variety of places, and today was literally the first time I saw the ground whitened by snow in March. I have seen flakes in the air that melt the instant they hit the ground perhaps two or three other times. I am not making this up.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Re: March 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
Portland had a nice dump of snow in April a year or two ago. Portland.
Needless to say, I have not seen more than just flakes in the air in April, either. At least not on the West Coast. Saw plenty of March, April, and May snow in the Rockies.

That can’t be right. We’ve had many March snowfalls.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2024 7:44 pm I moved to the West Coast in the summer of 1989, have lived in a variety of places, and today was literally the first time I saw the ground whitened by snow in March.
