February 2024 Forecasts and Discussions

Post by stuffradio »

We're already into the second month of the year! I hear we're supposed to get lots of rain. The sun angles are getting much more noticeable with sunsets starting after 5PM so we will be able to do more in the evenings after work. Let's see what Mr. Groundhog has to say about if we're getting an early Spring.

Similar to February 2016. Really think it's safe to take off the winter tires.

But what if March 1951 repeats?

Probably not. A SSW is being modeled but it really looks like the ridge will remain locked in here regardless.

Here's an unusual forecast. Prince Rupert is forecast to get snow tomorrow while Smithers, usually the colder one is forecast to get rain showers.

January this year ended up slightly cooler than 2022. January 2022 (mean 4.2c) didn't feature much freezing weather at all while this year was an extreme month (mean 3.9c) at YVR.

Looks like Cypress is closed both today and tomorrow. Maybe they can make some snow on the weekend?
