That June 2021 heatwave was absolutely insane. Abbotsford hit 42.9C with a humidex of 50C. Never thought I'd see those numbers here.

RIGHT???

I'm not saying it's wrong. but I feel like the models all rebound to a slight extreme regardless of whether it's coming from warm to cold or vice versa. Here in Squamish has been colder than the daily forecast for the last 3 days. I saw an article in the Seattle Times today about the polar vortex possibly returning in a couple weeks, which makes some sense as the SSW hasn't fully played out yet, but we shall see.

Thankfully precipitation totals in the Fraser Valley would be spread out over three days. But still looks extremely wet with around 175mm.

The Sea to Sky corridor and parts of Vancouver Island could experience major flooding if that solution verified. :silent:

snowjoker wrote: Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:18 pm Yes, I know pretty much the entire Pacific Northwest set all-time records that week, just pointing out how the wind direction screwed Richmond/Delta out of all-time highs. Easterlies would had put YVR up to 35+ for sure. Personally, the warmest I've experienced in Metro Van is still July 2009, but that's because I spent that entire heat wave up in Mission instead of in Richmond lol
It was still disgusting hot in Richmond I couldn't do anything.. lol
