All rain for the local mountains the next 10 days. Very warm, drippy, rainy and damp.

Signs towards a cool and chilly start to February but zero arctic air with warming in the arctic.
Yes, you can tell how exciting the weather is by the activity of the forum. I do see signs of below normal temps in the beginning of Feb, but it's still too far away to pinpoint much. I think people still lurk quite a bit when the weather is boring, but they just don't have anything to talk about.

I always go through a short phase of feeling a bit down after an exciting weather event is over. It's post weather fatigue and usually results in a lack of motivation to post here. Thankfully, it doesn't last long. It's similar to the feeling of going back to work after a fun holiday in Disneyland.

That's a great way to describe it. It's just general malaise of coming off a high. You're not exactly down in the dumps, but comparatively it's just suckier.

Could see temps in the mid teens in a week. May as well have record heat if we are going to torch!

For those who like tracking enso events, the bi monthly update will be tonight/ tomorrow. I follow an Australian site: http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/enso/#tabs=Overview , because I find it easier to follow than NOAA. Anyways, on this site you can track contributors to enso development, such as the SOI, which is updated daily.

Especially after a wonderful snow event like we had, only to see it decimated by a 7 day rain forecast instead of at least cloudy with shower or sunny breaks. Nature always gas to rip our snow cover away as fast as it can. This is depressing for many people.
