First time I've heard of heavier precip dragging warmer air down from the upper levels

Nice your elevated area 9km's east of the pond always does well East Whack man. I enjoy your winter photos the last 3 winters now. l'd have to check the last 2 winter's but you usually have at least 10cm's more than the valley floor during heavy events.

Very messy outside here. Light rain with a temperature of 1.1C and a dew point of 0C. Still lots of snow but it's become very wet and slushy.

I have a good feeling next winter will be dominated by high latitude blocking. Solid chance we get a La Niña/+QBO state and those winters usually deliver cold snd snowy treats here. Assuming the Polar Vortex doesn't go super strong, next winter has a good chance of performing. :silent:

To clarify, these are just some preliminary thoughts I have and not at all a final winter forecast. It's impossible to predict next winter this far out.

I was going to say that Nito has already cancelled next winter but it appears that he is actually calling for a good winter (better chance of cold/snow) next year.

Not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing though.

Would you consider changing your mind? How about we compromise and unleash the Pineapples for the rest of this winter? Snowman next winter.

Gotta appease the pineapple gods by upholding my end of the deal or else there will be no :flakey: :flakey: at all

I am the sacrifice for the rest of you. It's just for one month, anyway.
