Probably up to moderate snow now. Back down to freezing after being as warm as 1.2ËšC before the precip began.

It's actually snowing at a very good clip downtown. I'm excited to get home.
The non-traffic lanes are starting to pick up accumulation.

Oh, I don’t think he’s a moron. One doesn’t get a Ph.D. by being a moron. He just has this strong desire to be both right and to dissent from consensus, and it leads him to say stupid things. Popular consensus isn’t always wrong, after all. Normally, he slinks away silently when it all blows up on him, but this time he has chosen to double down.

He’s been shown the door by two different Seattle radio stations and been censured by his departmental peers, yet it’s all just evidence that the mean old unfair world is ganging up on poor little him. More than likely, he will treat the fallout from this latest escapade likewise.

Is he universally hated now or something?

I bought his book years ago. Also used to enjoy his blog before it became too political. He always had some good insights into PNW weather. I don't know about the accuracy of his recent predictions since I no longer follow him.

I stopped looking at his blog around the same time I stopped paying attention to the AF... maybe no coincidence, lol.

He's actually very intelligent. I used to read his blog but stopped years ago.

He just wants to always be right and political now, unfortunately. I forgot all about the guy until the AF started mentioning him this year.

It’s getting that way. He also hit waaaay below the belt at Michael Snyder last year when the two had a disagreement on Twitter. Claimed or implied that Snyder is not a trained meteorologist when he has a master’s degree in the subject and is employed by Alaska Airlines as one. So now of course Snyder is part of the “conspiracy” against poor little Cliff Mass (as Mass sees it). How to win friends and influence people.
