NWS giving us pretty poor odds for >20 cm of snow
I know the pros are using models and detailed pressure gradients, but eyeballing the NE Pacific IR loop really makes it look like enough resistance from the north to drive the low's centre enough south to keep us on the cold side of things. If the next storm in the chain could replicate that, we would be epic.

Edit: I got it working. Had to turn on developer features in Safari. Looks like the data is shown in html format so it wouldn't work without developer mode enabled. Now I'm able to see the weather observation data.

Where exactly is it buried? I must be blind because I can't find it.

Bear Golden wrote: Tue Jan 16, 2024 3:41 pm You dare bring up the great Vancouver Pineapple War of 1912??

Legend has it no mortal survived, nor photos - alas, the great artists of yesterday managed to pass down realistic imagery of what it might have been like to be there.

The war, a grand struggle, which still continues in some capacity today - mostly on local weather forums - as peace was never officially declared, embodies the dramatic and unpredictable nature of weather phenomena of the greater Vancouver area. Long live the COLD! :flakey:

Edit: I should really get back to work...
Nice what program do you use?

Dall-E. I was on the Beta for it a while back as a tester because the program showed potential in my line of work, ultimately they gave me permanent and unlimited use after it went live! It's also a great tool because you can see into the future. Put away your maps folks here's the deal for this storm tomorrow:

Probably based on the NBM, which has lousy accuracy predicting West Coast snowfalls and is currently a stingy outlier.
