I think we have a chance! Cold is building up north and blocking returns in the long range with the possibility of another SSW event. Such an unusual El Nino so far...models are showing the exact opposite of climo in their weekly outlooks.

I like Tyler Hamilton's approach of a boom or bust outlook but it's nearly impossible to make a call with the many elements at play (track of low, intensity of precip, depth of cold air, reinforcing shot of cold air, etc). See what happened in PDX.

I love that westernmost long ditch there. on Saturday no one had crossed the path to skate back there yet. we were the first but we didn't go too far back there because of all the cracking. It was unnerving but all ice cracks with the first weight on it.
