To answer my own question, no. Today’s record low is -16.1˚C in 1950. Yesterday’s was -12.3˚C in 1993, yesterday’s -13.4 handily beat it.
It's called clown range for a reason.

It’s a balmy -25 here in Okanagan Falls. This is my drive to penticton yesterday for a little shopping. Brrrr! Skaha lake looks so cool with the steam coming up. Stay warm peeps!

Yeah the long range looks bullocks. The gfs and gem are great snow runs but also ominous for ice storms.

GFS isn't too bad. Last thing you want to see is a massive GOA vortex with a progressively mild pattern. Blocking actually has promise.

Anyone wants to take a guess on TMax today? It looks like we are running colder than forecasted.

The -8 rule does not necessarily matter in these sort of conditions. If cold air persists at lower levels, it will snow down to sea level so long as it remains below freezing aloft.

Around -5ËšC. Upper levels have warmed and it will mix down.

I am looking more of the dip prolonging the cold.

It's always nice to wake up to pretty colours. But this should still be taken with a grain of salt. Still lots of time to change for the worse. :silent:
