Wind chill of -24 now at YVR. Need Typer to tell us the last time that happened. I will look very silly if it turns out to be Dec 2021 or 2022.

Komo write up
We are waking up with temps in the teens in some parts of our area. That means frosty roads that could be slick. There is also some snow still falling in the south sound. Areas around Olympia and along Highway 101. The drive this morning in Pierce, Thurston and Lewis Counties will be extra slick. Areas where snow fell yesterday in Snohomish and Jefferson Counties still have snow on the ground as we start the day. Those areas could also have some extra treacherous roads as we start the day. The foothills in King County are another area that is starting the day with some snow on the ground, but not a lot.
Now that the cold air we were expecting has taken over, any moisture we get today could fall as some light snow, but there is simply not much to work with. That means you can plan on partly sunny skies today with temps only climbing to the mid-20s.
A dry cold night is ahead with temps in the teens once again. That means another hard freeze. It’s a good idea to check on anyone in your neighborhood who might not be able to keep their house warm or have health issues made worse by the cold. Animals also need to a warm place to escape the frigid temperatures.
Saturday will bring partly to mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid-20s.
Sunday is looking sun-filled, but cold. Highs will climb a bit to the upper 20s and lower 30s.
Dry chilly weather is expected to continue on Monday with highs in the mid-30s.
Our next chance of rain will come on Tuesday with highs hitting the upper 30s and lower 40s. There could be a few snowflakes mixed in with the showers during the transition.

Trying to contain myself from reading too much into the GFS but this would be an epic inversion. Think heavy fog and frost with tropical warmth aloft

Re: January 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
December 27th and 28th, 2021 was colder than that. Even in Abbotsford. Prior to that, you'd likely have to go back to 1993.

Re: January 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
The snow that happened in dec in nan was interesting. We were up there for my son’s hockey game. Just driving from south nan (all rain) to north nan all snow!Michael1 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 10:22 pm We shall see. EC did issue a snow warning for the region of Duncan to Nanaimo. Maybe,we can catch a bit of that. Having said that, In the 33 years I've lived in the Nanoose/Parksville area, it is not unusual for the snow to end at Lantzville, just north of Woodgrove mall. The night is young and full of surprises, so...
