Good idea πŸ’‘, I almost forgot about it. I should probably give the oilers at least 40 games to pull themselves out of it before I make a remastered version. Or maybe a new song?

A long, long time ago, I can still remember
How Wayne Gretzky used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those fans dance
And maybe they'd be happy for a while

But October made me shiver
My whining couldn't deliver
Bad hip on the doorstep
I couldn't take one more step
I can't remember if I cried
When I read about my injured pride
But mounting losses touched me deep inside
The day the Oilers died

Absolutely awful non-call in overtime. Canucks should have had a power play but instead the Rangers scored and won. But these things happen to every team. I remember a game against Vegas a couple years ago where Hughes got away with a trip that resulted in an overtime winning goal.

While it sucks we lost tonight, it's not the first and likely won't be the last time a bad non-call or a bad call itself will decide a game.

That said, the Canucks played really well tonight and honestly, they are playing excellent this season so far. If they keep playing like this, they will win games and make the playoffs. So even though it's disappointing that we didn't get the extra point tonight, it's really nice to see the Canucks showing us they actually are a competitive team.

Hope you enjoyed reading my amaetur post game commentary.

Like you, happy soucy tied it to get at least a point. Fairly evenly played game, you could tell rangers are a good team, doesn't give up many chances. But Canucks probably should've won in ot,as they had the better chances, especially Kuz.
Management looking smart so far with the Tocchet hire and minor roster moves like getting Lafferty and Friedman.

I'm happy Hoagie is playing decent during the all Canadian bacon division in 2021 he was playing decent then the last 2 years he's been up and down from AHL.
I thought if he doesn't do anything this year he could be traded or waived. But he's really improved his game it looks like he's worked on afew things.

Interesting tid bit Keith Gretzky never played a game in the NHL the Buffalo Sabres drafted him. But Brent Gretzky played 13 games and was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning I remembered hearing more about Keith than Brent, Keith had a excellent junior career l remember.
Brent Gretzky only played 13 games in the NHL before leaving the game for good. Here's what The Great One's brother is doing these days: working a job he's dreamt of since he was six years old, serving the community πŸ™Œ

Fun fact he was the first Knuckles goalie to record a shut out 0-0 against the Laffs l didn't check the year.
duncwilson.jpg
RIP, Dunc Wilson.

October 27, 1971. 34 saves at Toronto in that 0-0 tie. The Toronto goalies that year were the hall of famers Jacques Plante and Bernie Parent with Bernie picking up the shutout that game with just 20 shots faced.

That was the Canuck's second season. 1970/71 was one of only 3 seasons they never recorded a shutout. The others being 1984/85 and 2005/06.

This was just past the Original 6 era when the number of professional goalies increased dramatically with league expansion and the the rival WHA.

Recently I was looking at the Original 6 era where there often just 6 goalies playing in a season (except when one was injured) because each team only dressed one goalie. Crazy!

It was scary when the Preds took a 2-1 πŸŽƒ lead however by the end of Halloween night Petey collected a stash of tasty πŸ˜‹ treats.
I'm impressed with the no quit Kanooks much better than the last few years.
6-2-1 for Rocktober has to be one of there better starts in awhile.
