Similar to the January 1954 snowstorm where 118.7cm was recorded at YXX over a period of seven days. Abbotsford recorded its highest daily snowfall during that event with 49.8cm falling on January 21st. A repeat would most definitely shut down the region. However, from a weather enthusiast point of view, it would be epic.

The 12Z GFS continues to give us multiple days at or below 0 from October 25-31. No snow yet.

Not all that unusual to get the first freeze of the season in late October.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Sometimes we don't get it until November or December.

Usually not until November.
Vancouver International doesn't typically dip below freezing until between November 1 and 10, while Victoria International's first frost date usually falls between November 11 and 20.

But late October isn’t that much earlier than climo norms, so not that unusual to see.

For my area... first frost is almost always in October -- first freeze can sometimes be delayed until November.
