Re: August 2023 Forecasts and Discussions
Just got off work and saw a flash of lightning. A bit of thunder afterward.
Edit: Another flash of lightning with more thunder.

Re: August 2023 Forecasts and Discussions
I was just noticing some strong echoes near Abby on the radar and came here to see if there were any thunder or lightning reports from there.
Just a few sprinkles here, no thunder.
It's called clown range for a reason.

No sign of any thunder or lightning; dry, windy, and cloudy in east Coquitlam. Still looks like there's some smoke mixed in aloft too.

Missed metro van but we might get a whopping 5mm tomorrow. What a dud. Typical and totally expected this would happen.

Re: August 2023 Forecasts and Discussions
Whatever the GFS deterministic is showing divide it by 2 and that will be the totals. Models always over-do rainfall totals here.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 6:56 pm Operationals, zoomed in on the Lower Mainland.

Re: August 2023 Forecasts and Discussions
Is that map you posted lightning strikes or is that wildfire starts?

Re: August 2023 Forecasts and Discussions
Right? In Toronto, I was literally sitting on a balcony for 4 hours straight watching non-stop lightning.
That's what getting hammered should be haha
