It was the most extreme weather event I've ever experienced. I'll never forget it. :thumbup:

Opposite to when l was 9 and experienced the coldest winter day back in 68/69 when YVR hit -18c. We were living out in Coquitlam so it might have been colder.
So actually l lived through 2 milestones actually 3 when YVR surpassed there highest temperature on July 30th 2009 34.4c and the 40 plus in June 2021 in the central valley.
I'm still amazed that YVR never set any extreme records during this event l guess the on shore breeze was strong enough to suppress temps out there. :shifty:

So Coquitlam could have been -20c perhaps any volunteer stations out that way back then with temp. data? Twiz we were up North road by Burquitlam plaza.

Portland Oregon hit 42.2C today. Abbotsford's max temperature during the 2021 heat dome was 42.9C recorded on June 28th. :shock: :sick:

Not cooling off according to this model. I was driving back from the Cariboo through Whistler and noticed the glaciers are melting at an unbelievable rate. The Green river, Squamish river and Chilcotin river were swollen to the brim with glacier meltwater. These late summer heat waves are glacier killers.
