Siding with the Euro and GEM on this one. Those weak lows get shredded by the snow eating easterly winds.

GOA low looking to set up though. That is good news. Pattern reset time!

Does a a GOA trough mean a better possibility of active/mountain snow conditions?

Well at least the 12Z Euro is slightly wetter than previous runs. A comparison of the last 2 runs.

Exciting that it's snowing somewhere. Weird to think that not very far away I have high cloud, a bit of blue sky and no precip

Fraser Valley is close. Winds forecast 60 gusting to 80 km/h. So wind warnings could be coming here as well if they end up a bit stronger.

Do you still think the pattern leading up to and around Christmas could be cold and snowy for us?

At this point any solution is on the table. Models will not be able to resolve this until much closer to the event.

I'll assume for now that overrunning event is unlikely but possible. No reason to get Hope's up atm. But the ensembles are suggesting that GOA trough and cool/active which is what I want to see personally as a skier

The pattern reset is the first step. When it flips again is really anyone's guess but I think the late Dec period does have potential.
