Felt like trade deadline day today, the tsn boys could be bored on Friday. Quite the arms race in the east, and that's just to try and survive the 1st round onslaught on the front lines. League needs to go back to 1vs8 2vs7 3vs6 4vs5, too many good teams will get knocked out in 1st round, especially in the east.

Sounds like canucks working a big trade with Pittsburgh, we'll see. Looking at the standings, the most likely draft position for canucks is somewhere between 6th-9th,unless they win the lottery. Getting too many points lately, Kuz the anti-tank missile, has proven to be quite deadly late in games.
Islanders also continue to get points, but fortunately the teams chasing them, and there are many, have a few games in hand. Detroit,Ottawa, Buffalo making it very interesting . I think islanders will either just miss or just make it. Likely draft position 15th-18th.

Ottawa is my second favorite team. I noticed they've pulled out of the tank race and might have the slightest of chances to snag that 8th spot. That team has built a very impressive core of offensive players. Maybe they'd give us something good for Demko.

I'd love to have a team to support in the playoffs...the Jets i would be ok with but probably not going anywhere.

Detroit was on quite a roll there until they bumped into Ottawa. I could see myself rooting for the senators , love me a good underdog , kicking myself for not taking Tkachuck and Stutzle in my hockey pool($20,000 1st place prize),but I'm hanging in there, top 40,but have run into injuries.

Hard to believe that rangers were in rebuild mode just 5 years ago..now look at them, and able to wheel and deal and going for it,in it to win it in a relatively short time. Hello? Canucks? Are you watching?

Whoa that's a huge prize. Wowzers.

The Rangers might be a one off. They got a Norris winning D man for free, Panarin only wanted that team ( and now Kane) and they somehow turned zabinajad into a superstar when he was an average dude. Oh and shestyerkin.

Still, rebuilds can work with shrewd moves! And no the Canucks aren't watching. they will continue their usual bs until fatqua is gone in 30 or so years.

I don't fully understand this deal from their perspective. Especially considering this will be a relatively deep draft. Hronek is a decent young dman under team control for a few years, so there is that, but still.

I suppose you could say Horvat and 2nd rounder for Bouvilier,Raty,Hronek. They think they've solved the right hand defenceman problem but they're forgetting that they might not be competitive for a few years. Might've found a good defenceman several years younger with that islanders first round pick. Maybe they're working on more picks to recoup by deadline Friday?

Do you remember the last time we had a 1st and 2nd round pick? I don't.
