At least there is finally some exciting weather to track from my sickbed.

Snowman wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2019 6:12 pm Appreciate all of your weather input! I was a frequent lurker on the old site, glad I stumbled upon this one. I grew up in Abbotsford, so I’m used to the typical ‘wetcoast’ winters, but moved to Westbank last year. Still eagerly waiting for the first snowfall of the season up here.
Welcome Snowman!  Are you in a high snowfall area? Looking forward to hearing your weather.

Hmmm, as soon as my rain gauge hit 1000 mm, it started recording the numbers in a strange way.

I don't get it but maybe my math is just really bad? Can someone help me read this?

UPDATE: Looks like its 1,013.2. Just didn't put the comma and decimal point in and spaced it funny. I figured this out by temporarily switching to inches and then doing the conversion on Google. I put it back to mm now. Strange that it does it this way but its a cheap station.

I'm guessing it only has 3 digits?

Is it reading 1001mm perhaps?

Thanks! Last winter was my first up here. Didn't get as much snow as other parts of the Okanagan, and last year was pretty tame until February and into March. Hoping for some big snowfalls this year though! I've heard this area can get a decent amount.
