Not to worry, GEM is much more active. Will be interesting to see which solution wins out; given the blocky nature of the past month or so, I'd expect it to dry out pretty quickly rather than this zonal pattern persisting for an extended period of time.

I guess the one thing to keep in mind is it's dry in the extended but a heck of a lot can change between now and then and it will. I'm rooting for the mega mountain snow, any snow maps? :D

Offshore block merges with the other ridge out near the Aleutians. There's some nice tilt to it and the -NAO could aid in holding it in place. Would result in chilly NE flow for us by next Tuesday.
