Hawks fans giving OV a standing ovation is classy. He will hit 45 goals maybe even 50 again this year. Unbelievable for his age.

If you count Gordie Howe's WHA goals he still has more. Let's discount them by more than 50% due to the high scoring of that league and say he has 1000 goals. Ovi will still catch him in all likelihood.

I'm not sure I would count goals in another league tbh..Also not too confident that Ovi will put in another 105 after beating out the record.

I really wish that he hadn't had those lockouts man. He would've been right on the cusp.

On a side note, the lack of Olympics and World cups sucks too. The World cup of hockey should be a slam dunk event but it happens once a decade and the last one was gimmicky and lame. And Russia has failed in the events he did play in for some reason.

To get even further off track, they should've done a 50 year anniversary summit series. Then again...Russia.

My whole point is there hasn't been enough opportunity for him to grow his legacy in international hockey, on top of the fact he's had 2 seasons of prime nhl goal scoring taken away. I agree he's the greatest based on adjusted goals but its just not the same.

Yeah stats wise Lemieux is another case of what coulda been.

I read that Jagr suited up and played for his local team the other day, as there was an illness running through the team. He's over 50 now.

Croatia defeats Morocco to capture 3rd place. They always seem to be hovering near the top, which is quite amazing considering their population is smaller than BC , just over 4mil compared to 5 mil for BC. But it doesn't end there with soccer, Croatia is also very good at basketball , water polo , handball , tennis , and alpine skiing. Incredible for such a low population base to draw from.
