Still below real .500, they need a big winning streak against good teams to make me believe again. Their play is just so uninspiring, even against an absolutely crap team like the Sharks they eke out a win in the least convincing fashion possible. I hope they do something far more convincing against the Wild and then the Flames but confidence remains low.

So in other words skipper it's like the SS Minnow in a storm with there D leaving the goaltender stranded on Gilligan's Island while the forwards play coconuts hockey. :wtf:

Don't know why they can't clamp down and play better team defence. Look no further than the Leafs, yes the Leafs. They also had a slow start, then lost most of their regular defensemen , and have average goaltending, and yet they are on fire, right up there with Boston and New Jersey, even pitching shut outs. How can this be?

Perhaps the center of the universe makes a huge difference skipper.

Tage Thompson of Buffalo yesterday had 6 pts , 5 goals 1 assist, and that was after 2 periods. The record for most goals (7),maybe even most points (10) was within reach. Yet in the 3rd period he only gets 3 shifts. Seriously coach? Why? Why not let one of your best players chase the record? Maybe even double shift him , but actually cut back his ice time?? Bizarre, who cares if they run up the score, not their fault if Columbus is playing that bad. Would've been cool if he at least tied the goal scoring record on the road (6) by Red Berenson in 1968. I think Darryl Sittler's record of 10 pts(6g+4a) is pretty safe, if Gretzky or Lemieux couldn't do it , I don't think Mcdavid can either.

If it did they wouldn't be getting swallowed up in a big black hole every year.

I'll never forget that Sittler game was it a televised game l'm sure l was watching it.
And it came after Harrold Ballard threatened to trade Sittler.

Yes it was televised , I think final score was 11-2, Sittler in on every goal but one. Lanny McDonald and Tiger Williams were still on the team , so I think the Ballard shenanigans, threats, and trades happened later.

And may I add this was Tage Thompson's 2nd 6 point game so far in this young season, and his name is not Mcdavid

Omg I bet 5 bucks on Croatia and won 50

I gave up and went outside to walk my dog after Neymar scored, came back and see it's in penalties and Croatia get the big save.

Edit: nvm. I needed a full time result. I thought those odds seemed way too good, guessni should read better. Good for Croatia though, miraculous win.

The World Cup of upsets.
